Under the approach of risk reduction, climate change and ecosystem management, indigenous and traditional knowledge was addressed and used in the identification of joint and comprehensive work guidelines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promotion of participation processes with leaders of Q&#8217;anjob&#8217;al, Mam, Kaqchikel, K&#8217;iche&#8217; and Q&#8217;eqchi linguistic communities on climate change and REDD+<\/li>\n<li>Dialogue spaces on REDD+ in Guatemala<\/li>\n<li>Workshop at the Abya Yala Indigenous Forum on the national and regional scenario and approaches to climate change, adaptation, REDD+ and Indigenous Peoples&#8217; rights<\/li>\n<li>Dialogue on Oxlajuj B&#8217;aktun, Conference of the Parties (COP) on climate change and Indigenous Peoples<\/li>\n<li>Indigenous participation in the Communal Lands Promotion Group, MICCG and the Forests, Biodiversity and Climate<\/li>\n<li>Change Group on the Indigenous Category of Collective and Community Management<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy before the CONAP Council to seek the endorsement of the Indigenous Category in its recognition by the State<\/li>\n<li>Creation of the Indigenous Follow-up Committee to create the national REDD+ safeguards proposal<\/li>\n<li>Sotz&#8217;il was delegated to assume the space as national focal point on traditional knowledge by CONAP<\/li>\n<li>Preliminary legal study of advocacy routes to promote the new management category<\/li>\n<li>Socio-cultural study in the Sucult\u00e9 area in Pet\u00e9n and Yaxkalant\u00e9 in Huehuetenango in relation to the new management category<\/li>\n<li>Faunistic characterization of Cerro Yaxcalant\u00e9 and collective management<\/li>\n<li>Development of a typology proposal for the identification of indigenous areas and their subsequent incorporation into the Indigenous or Community Collective Management model<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\"
