Strengthen governance processes in the management of communal forests and municipal yards in the Central Kaqchikel Volcanic Chain (CVK) region.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT:

  • Community training workshops on transparency mechanisms in the use and management of communal lands and forests, in the processes of free, prior and informed consent, and in the law on access to information
  • Municipal training workshops to address transparency mechanisms, the law on free access to information and communal lands
  • Inter-institutional training workshops for public officials of MARN, MAGA, CONAP, and INAB on institutional transparency mechanisms
  • Development of a training module on communal lands and the application of free, prior and informed consent
  • Intercultural dialogues between government officials, municipal authorities and technicians, and community and local
  • leaders on participation and transparency mechanisms
  • Production of radio spots broadcast on community radio stations
